The Volkshochschulverband Baden-Württemberg e.V. is the regional association of public further education centres (Volkshochschulen) in the German Bundesland Baden-Württemberg (BW). Its offices and legal seat are in Leinfelden-Echterdingen close to Stuttgart, the capital of BW. 32 staff members work in the head office of the association.
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports Baden-Württemberg (Kultusministerium Baden-Württemberg) is one of eleven ministries of the German Bundesland Baden-Württemberg. Its 380 staff members are responsible for the administration of the education and training sector in Baden-Württemberg and initiate and develop legislative processes.
The City of Göteborg is one of the major destinations of refugees coming to Sweden. The City is responsible for the reception of immigrants, for issues like housing of refugees and last not least for training and education for immigrants. Like Germany, Sweden faced an extreem situation in 2015 with 1000 new refugees arriving in Sweden every day in autumn 2015.
The school “CUBEN” is one of the suppliers of adult education to the City of Gothenburg. Cuben started in 2011 with 840 students and today has about 1100 students and 35 employees. The founders and owners of the school have many years of experience in educating adults.
The mission of Cuben is to help all students to reach their goal to be self-sufficient. Since Cuben was started in 2011, mindset has led to hundreds of job opportunities and several start-ups, and new ideas are born every day. All courses are individualised with high student participation. Cuben is a school that raises initiative, creativity, desire and motivation.
Oslo Voksenopplæring Rosenhof is a public school run by Oslo kommune (municipality) which offers courses in Norwegian and social studies in the daytime and evening classes. In addition, Rosenhof offers online Norwegian language courses with frequent one-on-one counselling. Rosenhof is the largest school in Norway employing 100 professional and experienced teachers on all levels, from beginner level literacy and A1, to advanced level C1.
The “Styrian Association for Education and Economics (Steirische Volkswirtschaftliche Gesellschaft) founded in 1955, is an educational institution with the central focus on “education and economics” that makes a sustainable impact, entrepreneurial, economically, industrially oriented education at local and regional level, but also in numerous national and European cooperation.
The Department of Education and Phychology of the University of Florence is committed in several scientific activities in the sector of the quality of the research in the sectors of education and training, including training and education for teachers and trainers, professionalisation of trainers and adult professionals, institutional learning, adult education in prison, lifelong learning for young adults, embedded learning systems (applied in business and prison settings). Inside the Department there is also remarkable knowledge in connection with the European directives linked to talent management research initiatives, professionalisation in adult learning, the Open Method of Coordination mostly applicable to the policies of Education and Training.
EARLALL is an international non-profit association registered in Belgium and established in 2001 under the initiative of regional authorities willing to build a solid cooperation in the field of lifelong learning.
Being composed by regional and local authorities from all around Europe, EARLALL represents an excellent platform for searching and sharing best practice and disseminating the results of projects among its members and other regional authorities, and their stakeholders.
